Image Analysis
Upload a micrograph (or other research image) and tune grayscale thresholds to segment phases. The tool returns an annotated image, quantitative metrics, and a downloadable PNG.
Upload image & thresholds
Supported formats: PNG, JPEG, JFIF, TIFF. Use the sliders to tune the segmentation thresholds.
Threshold guide
1) Start with Black (pores) max. Increase until pores are fully captured.
2) Keep Dark Grey min/max conservative at first; then tighten to isolate the target phase.
3) Ensure Dark Grey max is always greater than Dark Grey min.
4) Adjust in small steps and visually validate the output image.

Black (Pores) max
Value: 30
Upper limit for darkest pixels classified as pores. (Default: 30)
Typical range: 15–55
Dark Grey min (Cementite)
Value: 30
Lower bound for cementite intensity. (Default: 30)
Set slightly above the pore threshold end.
Dark Grey max (Cementite)
Value: 31
Upper bound for cementite intensity. (Default: 31)
Must remain greater than Dark Grey min.
